The submitted texts are initially evaluated by the editors of the journal. Consequently, we notify the author of the initial acceptance of the text for evaluation and submission of the article for review or refusal to accept the text.
In the next stage, the editors check whether the text contains information that allows the author to be identified during the review process. Any information indicating the authorship of the text is removed before sending the text to the anonymous review.
The editors then select two reviewers to evaluate the text. Reviewers proceed to the evaluation of the article on the condition that there is no conflict of interest in relation to the research subject in the given article or in relation to the author/authors. „Edukacja Etyczna” does not provide texts for review to persons who are in a family or professional relationship in relation to the author/authors of the evaluated text.
Editors of „Ethics Education” strive to avoid selecting reviewers with an obvious potential conflict of interest (for example, those who work in the same institution as the authors). We also encourage authors of submitted papers to provide with the manuscript a list of names of people who, in their opinion, should not be asked to review the text because of a potential conflict of interest. Where possible, authors should justify or clarify the nature of the reported conflict of interest.
Reviewers of „Ethical Education”, to whom we send texts, are asked to disclose to the editors any conflicts of interest that could affect their opinion about the work. We also inform reviewers that it is forbidden to use knowledge about the evaluated work before its publication. Reviewers of „Ethics Education” use a standard reviewing form in which they indicate, with justification, their decision regarding the publication of the text.
The reviewer can indicate the following options:
1. Accepting the text in an unchanged form
2. Accepting the text after making minor revisions
3. Accepting the text after major revisions
4. The article does not meet the requirements of the scholarly article and should be rejected.
On the basis of the opinions provided by the reviewers, the editors of the journal „Education Etyczna” decide on the further fate of the article. The article, based on the opinions issued, may be forwarded to further editorial and publication work, sent back to a thorough correction in accordance with the reviewers' comments or rejected. In the case of divergent opinions contained in the submitted reviews, the editorial board may decide to appoint a third reviewer. Authors of the reviewed texts receive the content of the review and possible hints from the reviewer about the corrections. At the request of the author of the text, it is possible to send comments/ opinions/ comments/questions to the reviewer of the article through the editors of „Edukacja Etyczna”, maintaining the anonymity of both sides.
